Liverpool Pull Out Of Striker Deal Despite Medical Having Been Completed

Divock Origi will not be returning to Anfield early.

Liverpool are set to pull out of a move to bring young Belgian striker Divock Origi back to the club ahead of time from a loan spell in Ligue 1 with Lille, report the Daily Star, despite the fact a medical and deal had already been agreed for the player who actually signed for Liverpool in a £10 million deal last summer.

Origi signed for the Reds on the back of some impressive performances for Liverpool at the World Cup with Belgium, although he has been mediocre for Lille during a frustration Ligue 1 campaign for the club so far.

Despite this, however, Brendan Rodgers had been frustrated enough with his attacking options and injuries to Daniel Sturridge to pay out to bring him to Anfield early, although goals from Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert at the weekend, coupled with Sturridge’s impending return, have meant that is no longer the case.
