Magpies now favourites to secure the signing of Dele Alli from Milton Keynes Dons.
Newcastle United have now emerged as the favourites to secure the signing of sought after young midfielder Dele Alli from Milton Keynes Dons, report the Mirror, with the managerless Magpies now looking primed to beat Premier League rivals Liverpool to securing one of the most exciting young prospects in the Football League.

Alli has already reached double figures for goals this season for promotion chasing League One outfit MK Dons and is one of the most important cogs in Karl Robinson’s side, but such is the hype surrounding his performances in Buckinghamshire that it is hard to see the Dons being able to cling on to their star asset for much longer.
Liverpool have long been one of the clubs most strongly linked with Alli, as suggested by the reports, but interest appears to have cooled and allowed Newcastle, currently under the stewardship of caretaker manager John Carver, to make inroads.
The set-up at St. James’ Park means that the majority of transfers are currently conducted by chief scout Graham Carr and the club’s board, meaning that Alli could conceivably be signed by the club even though they are yet to appointed Alan Pardew’s successor.
