Hull manager Steve Bruce is ready to take a gamble on the player as he seeks to strengthen his squad for the rest of the season, and Powell could be a useful addition either in midfield or attack.

The 20-year-old certainly doesn’t look likely to get much playing time at Old Trafford due to the fierce competition for places in Louis van Gaal’s immensely-talented squad.
