Martin Skrtel was lucky to get away with what looked like an early handball.

But Palace weren’t complaining after Fraizer Campbell put them ahead after just 15 minutes, and it looked like the shock was on.

Marouane Chamakh was sporting some quite unique headgear throughout the game but unfortunately it wouldn’t help him in the scoring stakes.

Palace could have gone in at half time two to the good but for some fine keeping from Mignolet.

And Daniel Sturridge certainly made them pay early in the second half with a great finish.

Sturridge celebrated with his usual gusto, but this time was joined by an unusual helper in Alberto Moreno.

Adam Lallana completed the turnaround on 57 minutes, reacting first to a Julian Speroni spill. The Palace keeper will be red-faced at such poor keeping, although he wasn’t helped by a wet surface.

And that was enough to see Liverpool run out 2-1 winners and march on in the FA Cup.
