8) Manchester City – 15 points
It’s easy to see why Manuel Pellegrini is under pressure at the Etihad Stadium. His results simply haven’t been good enough for a title charge.
7) Southampton – 16 points
The Saints enjoyed a brilliant start to the season, and while results have fallen away a little in recent weeks, there’s still plenty to smile about.
6) Tottenham Hotspur – 16 points
Spurs have a game in hand on the rest, having played in the League Cup final last week, but still need to do more if they want that top four place.
5) Manchester United – 17 points
There has been plenty of criticism of Louis van Gaal and co so far this year, but they are still finding a way to scrape together the results needed.
