Two poor weekends in a row have seen Los Blancos surrender pole position in La Liga to a resurgent Barcelona, who romped home to a 6-1 win over Rayo Vallecano at the Nou Camp this weekend.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti’s side drew 1-1 with Villarreal and then lost 1-0 to Athletic Bilbao.

In the poll which AS conducted, a whopping 92% of fans said that Real should drop their current tactic and revert to 4-4-2, which would likely see one of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo or Karim Benzema dropped.

When asked which of the trio should be dropped, 46% thought Gareth Bale, who has been the subject of jeering and criticism from Real fans, wasn’t worthy of his starting place while 32% was to see Ronaldo out of the team.

Frenchman Karim Benzema was the most favoured man, with only 22% of the vote.
