Chelsea flop threatens to derail Blues’ £48m midfielder bid

Chelsea left-back Filipe Luis could threaten to derail his club’s bid to sign Atletico Madrid playmaker Koke this summer as he declares his intention to stay at Stamford Bridge, according to the Metro.

The Brazilian international has struggled to make an impression since joining the Blues last summer, and has been linked with a return to his old club in a move that could help Jose Mourinho land Koke.

However, Luis now says he wants to see out his three-year contract with Chelsea, which may mean the club cannot raise the sufficient funds to bid for the £48m-rated Spaniard.

“When I arrived here in Chelsea, I signed a three-year contract, which I want to fulfil,” the 29-year-old is quoted as saying.
