Liverpool defender Emre Can could’ve been playing for Manchester United this weekend if things had gone a little differently, according to the Daily Mirror.

The highy-rated German starlet has been in superb form for Brendan Rodgers’ side of late, and also impressed former United boss David Moyes whilst at Bayer Leverkusen last season.

Moyes would’ve tried to bring Can to Old Trafford if he’d remained at the club, but he was sacked in April, meaning his transfer plans for the summer will have been scrapped.

Can insists he is unaware of United’s interest, and instead joined Liverpool which looks like a wise choice given how the two teams have performed this season.
