The Daily Mirror claims that the Blues sent representatives to watch him in action yesterday with a view to landing him this summer, but competition for his services is likely to be fierce.

Periodista Digital reports that Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone is a big admirer of the 21-year-old and is eager to lure him to La Liga when the transfer window opens, while Valencia have retained an interest since the turn of the year.

Kranevitter is believed to be open to a switch to Europe at the end of the current campaign, and his representatives are determined to find him a club which will be playing Champions League football in 2015-16.

City looked in danger of missing out on a place in Europe’s leading club competition only a matter of weeks ago, but three consecutive victories for Manuel Pellegrini’s men, coupled with a slump in form at Man United and Liverpool, has all but secured qualification for the Premier League’s second-placed side.
