Arsenal could be plotting a highly controversial move to sign a player from their bitter north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur this summer as they keep an eye on Nabil Bentaleb’s contract situation at White Hart Lane.
The Gunners are said to be one of a number of teams monitoring the young Algerian international, who has performed superbly for Spurs since being promoted to their first-team last season.
An intelligent defensive midfield player with good vision and technique, Bentaleb looks an ideal fit for Arsene Wenger’s side as they look to strengthen in that area of the pitch.
Although Francis Coquelin has performed well there for Arsenal this season, the Daily Mirror claims Arsenal are still looking at new additions for the role, with Bentaleb now on their radar.
The 20-year-old would be the first big name since Sol Campbell to move from Tottenham to Arsenal, though Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also mentioned as suitors for the talented youngster after talks over a new contract broke down.
