Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is in pole position to complete one of the most significant deals of the summer as his side close in on the signing of Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
The French international, who has long been linked with a move to Arsenal, now looks set to become the latest big-name arrival at Old Trafford as van Gaal continues his revamping of the squad.
United brought in a whole host of top class signings last year, spending big on the likes of Angel Di Maria, Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw, and Schneiderlin looks like being the next to come in.
According to the Metro, Arsenal have ended their interest due to Arsene Wenger’s reluctance to pay up for the 25-year-old after the emergence of Francis Coquelin this season.
Schneiderlin certainly looks the ideal midfield signing for the Red Devils, who have been linked with other big names like Ilkay Gundogan as well this summer.
