Arsenal have signed Karim Benzema: Respected Italian journalist confirms deal, contract terms agreed

Long term Emirates Stadium target on his way to North London.

Arsenal have reportedly completed a deal to sign Real Madrid star Karim Benzema with respected Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli claiming a deal has been struck.

Giulianelli correctly stated that Alexis Sanchez had completed his move to Arsenal some time before it was common knowledge and as such there may well be mileage in these claims.

The 27-year-old has heightened speculation over a move away from the Bernabeu with a cryptic Instagram post last month and now it appears that a move could be on the cards.

Benzema has proven a prolific marksman since moving to the Spanish capital, after emerging as a top young talent at Lyon, bagging 133 goals in six seasons at Real Madrid.

Currently Arsene Wenger relies on Olivier Giroud as his chief central striking option and his tally of 54 goals in 134 appearances isn’t that impressive, indeed the French boss elected to start Sunday’s Community Shield clash against Chelsea with Theo Walcott in the role.

Newly appointed Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez is ready to use either Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo in a central striking role and should he do so then clearly Benzema would find his place in jeopardy and as such the powerful forward may feel the time is right to leave for pastures new.
