Arsenal and Liverpool target set for CRUNCH talks over future with Real Madrid

Arsenal and Liverpool target Denis Cheryshev is set for crunch talks with Rafael Benitez over his future with Real Madrid, reports the Daily Express.

The 24-year-old was on loan at Villarreal last season, and was successful with seven goals in four goals in 26 La Liga appearances. It is far from definite that he will have a future at the Bernabeu though, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, and Isco all able to play in his favoured position on the left wing. Indeed, he is yet to make a single appearance for Los Merengues despite coming through the youth system there.

If these talks don’t go well the Russia international could be on the lookout for a new club, with the Premier League duo joined by Villarreal in their interest. There is no reason to believe that Benitez is going to give the wideman a more prominent place in his squad, ahead of players with far higher profiles.

Liverpool may be less desperate to sign the player, having already brought in Roberto Firmino, Danny Ings, and Christian Benteke to bolster their team in the offensive third. Meanwhile, the Gunners failed to break down a resolute West Ham defence in their 0-2 defeat on Sunday, perhaps meaning Arsene Wenger will look for inspiration in the transfer market.
