The January transfer window is only hours away from closing and there are almost always big surprises pulled of in the final minutes – and Liverpool could be poised to pull off one of the biggest ones yet with a late push to sign Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev.
According to AS [per the Metro], Liverpool have pulled ahead of Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for the 25-year-old Russian attacker and are trying to sign him in the final hours of the transfer window.
Cheryshev has made barely half a dozen appearances for the La Liga giants this season after an impressive loan spell with Villareal last year. The Russian winger has been a member of Real Madrid since 2002 and was a rising star on the Real Madrid B team.
