Manchester United ‘plot shock move to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku’ in superb double swoop

Lukaku looks ideal for Man Utd in this superb double raid!

Manchester United could be interested in signing Everton striker Romelu Lukaku before the end of the summer transfer window, it has emerged.

The Belgian international, formerly of Chelsea, struck twice for the Toffees today in a win over Southampton, showing himself to be one of the finest centre-forwards in the game.

Lukaku was linked with United earlier in the summer, according to the Daily Star, and with Wayne Rooney so poor against Aston Villa this week, a move could be on again if other targets cannot be brought in before the transfer deadline.

Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao have both left Old Trafford this summer, meaning a player like Lukaku is badly needed to provide more of a goal threat up front.
