Besiktas are set to continue their pursuit of Oumar Niasse from Everton after failing to land Christian Benteke from Liverpool according to the Turkish outlet Hurriyet.

Per-the-source, Besiktas are back in contact with both Everton and Niasse and are looking to complete a deal over the coming days.

However, Niasse is understood to be Besiktas’ second choice target behind Chelsea’s Loic Remy. The Black Eagles have also been linked with a move for the former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan according to Goal.

Meanwhile, the Mirror reported that Besiktas were keen to sign the former Liverpool striker Christian Benteke. However, the Belgium international ended up moving to Crystal Palace.

The 25-year-old joined Everton from the Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow for £13,5 million on February 1 but has failed to impress in the Premier League.

Everton host  Stoke City at Goodison Park in their third game of the Premier League season this weekend while Besiktas face Konyaspor.
