Liverpool and Arsenal leading the race to sign 20-year-old striker who has already scored 17 goals this season

Liverpool and Arsenal are leading the race to sign Celtic prodigy Moussa Dembele, according to the Daily Star.

The Daily Star report that the Dembele is attracting interest from far and wide, but Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal have shown the strongest. They also note that Manchester City could enter the race to sign him, as Pep Guardiola looks for quality backup for Sergio Aguero.

Dembele has scored 17 goals already for Celtic this campaign since joining the Scottish champions on a free transfer in the summer window. The Daily Star report that he almost joined Tottenham before signing for Celtic, but that potential move collapsed. We could still, however, see him in the Premier League before long.

The Daily Star report that Celtic rate the Frenchman at £20 million. They also note that City could have a leg-up on their rivals with Celtic keen to extent Patrick Roberts’ loan spell.

The Dembele saga is undoubtedly one to keep an eye on.
