Leeds to battle it out with PL rivals for 26-year-old French attacker

Leeds United have been linked with a move for the French striker Moussa Dembele.

According to a report from Football Insider, the 26-year-old is set for a move to the Premier League at the end of the season and he is wanted by Leeds and Southampton.

Dembele will be out of contract at the end of the season and Lyon have not managed to agree on an extension with him yet. Leeds and Southampton are hoping to take advantage of the situation and secure his services.

The 26-year-old has had a disappointing campaign so far and he has started just 7 league games for the French outfit scoring 3 goals. A player of his quality needs to play more often and a move to the Premier League could be ideal for him at this stage of his career.

The 26-year-old was one of the most exciting goal-scorers in European football during his time at Celtic and he managed to hit the ground running at the French club as well. However, things have not gone according to plan for him this season.

He will be hoping to get his career back on track with a move to the Premier League at the end of the season.

However, both Leeds and Southampton will have to ensure that they remain in the Premier League in order to sign the player.

It is highly unlikely that a player of Dembele’s quality will want to join a club in the Championship. Both clubs are currently fighting for their place in the Premier League and it remains to be seen whether they can beat the drop.
