Everton are set to continue their summer transfer spending by making a £20M move for Arsenal and France striker Olivier Giroud, according to the Sun.

Giroud, who managed to bag 16 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions last season for the Gunners, is set to replace current Everton striker Lukaku as per the Sun, who himself is poised to make a £70M move to Premier League champions Chelsea, as also reported by the Sun.

Everton scout Carlo Jacomuzzi yesterday claimed that Everton were set to sign the former Montpellier forward, as the Toffees see him as being better value than the £22m-rated Napoli striker Duvan Zapata, reports the Sun.

Giroud, who joined Arsene Wenger’s side from former French champions Montpellier in 2012, has scored 69 goals in 164 league appearances for the Gunners, who look set to cash in on the 30-year-old.

Should the Frenchman complete a move to the Merseyside club, it’ll be worths seeing whether Giroud can fill the boots left by Belgian forward Lukaku.
