Furious Liverpool supporters hit out at Man Utd star, gets trolled for poor display

It’s fair to say that Man Utd striker Romelu Lukaku didn’t have the best of first halves against Liverpool on Saturday, and fans let him know about it.

Aside from needing 17 minutes to get his first touch of the ball, something that even Sky Sports were keen to point out, he had a glorious opportunity to break the deadlock but forced a good save out of Simon Mignolet to keep it goalless.

That was enough to disappoint Man Utd supporters who were hoping for better as well as the neutrals watching, but Liverpool fans were left fuming over two other incidents involving the Belgian international.

The first was a late challenge on Joe Gomez, while that was swiftly followed by an incident with Dejan Lovren, as it appeared as though Lukaku’s trailing foot grazed the Liverpool defender’s head while he was on the floor.

Naturally, there was a furious reaction within the stadium, and with the benefit of cameras and replays, those on Twitter were absolutely gobsmacked that the 24-year-old wasn’t even booked for either challenge.

It’s been a pretty even game up to this point, but Lukaku in particular will need to step up and do more if Man Utd are to take home all three points…
