Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly identified Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez as an ‘absolutely perfect’ replacement for Alexis Sanchez, according to Don Balon.
These are hard times for Wenger, with both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil nearing the ends of their contracts and looking like becoming free agents in the summer.
Arsenal will clearly need to strengthen in attack, and Don Balon claim Wenger sees Spanish winger Vazquez as possessing all the necessary qualities to fill that void left by Sanchez.
Some Arsenal fans may need convincing, however, with the 26-year-old never really establishing himself as a regular in this Madrid side since becoming a first-team player after returning from loan at Espanyol in 2015.

For all his potential, Vazquez isn’t exactly proven at the top level week in, week out, so it may take a little more ambition from Arsenal in the transfer market to replace a world class star like Sanchez.
Le Buteur recently claimed Arsenal could be back in for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, and he could be more suitable for the Gunners’ current needs.
