As if they don’t make enough money on the pitch, figures have been released on how much stars like Cristiano Ronaldo make on sponsored Instagram posts.
In their defence, they are the best in the business and have undoubtedly worked hard to also build their profile off the pitch and make themselves a successful brand.
In turn, it’s no surprise that companies are prepared to throw significant money at them to advertise their products on social media, with Ronaldo having 137m followers on Instagram while Messi has 97.3m.
With those numbers in mind, it makes it a no-brainer for brands to want to see Ronaldo and Co. help convince the masses to invest in their products, and so as seen in the graphic below, it showcases how much they make.
Unsurprisingly, it’s claimed that the Portuguese superstar tops the lot with €750k per sponsored post, while Neymar sits in second place with €600k per post. Messi rounds off the top three with $500k a post.
The list is heavily dominated by footballers with only Conor McGregor, Virat Kohli and Stephen Curry breaking up the monopoly, but it just goes to show how influential companies think these stars can be to help boost their sales.
