Chelsea midfielder Willian has stated that he hopes to one day work with Jose Mourinho again, which could spark genuine interest from Man United.

Willian joined Chelsea back in 2013 and has since gone on to make 166 appearances for The Blues, scoring 17 goals. In fact, it was Jose Mourinho who bought the Brazilian to London 5 years ago, snapping him up from Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala for £32 million – as per The Daily Mail.

The midfielder has enjoyed great success during his time at Stamford Bridge, winning two Premier League titles and impressing as a box to box midfielder and a winger with superb technical prowess and an eye for breaking up play.

During an interview with ESPN, the 29-year-old opened up about his time working under current Manchester United boss Mourinho, revealing his close relationship with the Portuguese coach and saying that he hopes to play under him again in the future.

“Mourinho is the best manager I’ve ever worked with. We have a good relationship, we are friends,” said Willian, as ESPN reports.

“Sometimes we talk, we text, we send messages to each other via WhatsApp. He is a great manager, I really enjoyed working with him. I hope I can work with him again someday.”

ESPN states that the Red Devils and Barcelona have been linked with the midfield star throughout the summer, but his latest comments might suggest that he would favour a move to Old Trafford when push comes to shove in order to link up with his former boss.

United supporters will hope that the club can make at least 1 more signing before the transfer window closes on Thursday and Willian would certainly be a sensible acquisition with a proven pedigree in the Premier League who could add considerable quality to the squad.
