It’s been a difficult few months for Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, but the Reds faithful got right behind their player on Tuesday night.
The German shot-stopper was heavily criticised in the aftermath of Liverpool’s defeat to Real Madrid in last season’s Champions League final after his two costly blunders in Kiev.
While he would have been desperate to put that behind him and start pre-season off in confident fashion, he was guilty of committing more mistakes, one in particular against Tranmere standing out, while the Merseyside giants have since signed Alisson.
Given the Brazilian international cost £67m to prise away from Roma, as per Sky Sports, it’s more than likely that he will now establish himself as Jurgen Klopp’s first choice between the posts and in turn that relegates Karius to the bench.
With all that in mind, it hasn’t been a positive period in his career. However, despite his mistakes, Liverpool fans showed their support as he came on to replace Alisson against Torino in their final pre-season outing at Anfield on Tuesday.
As seen in the video below, it was a wonderful moment for the player and he will certainly have appreciated it.
