Real Madrid are reportedly ready to sell key superstar Marcelo, with the club eager to replace him with Chelsea and Spain star Marcos Alonso.

As per Don Balon, club president Florentino Perez has accepted that it’s time to get rid of the Brazilian, and that he wants to bring in Alonso as a replacement for the Brazilian.

The report also notes that Perez wants to get everything set up for him to seal the departure of Marcelo and the arrival of Alonso in the January transfer window.

Perez wants Alonso to come in as a replacement for Marcelo in January

Marcelo, who has a €200M release clause in his contract as per Don Balon, has played a massive role in Real’s side these past few seasons, and it’d definitely be a blow for the club if he were to leave.

However, bringing in Alonso to replace the Brazilian would definitely soften the blow of Marcelo leaving, especially seeing as he’d be available for a price of €60M, as per AS.

The Spanish international has proven during his few years with Chelsea that he definitely has what it takes to contribute to Real’s in terms of goals, as he’s bagged a hatful of goals for the Blues since his arrival in 2016.

Marcelo leaving would leave a huge void for Alonso to fill should he join Los Blancos, one that we’re sure the Spaniard would be able to fill if he were to be given time to settle into life in the Spanish capital.
