Tottenham tipped to launch £20m January bid for classy midfield ace, key condition stands in way

Tottenham could reportedly try to prise Adrien Rabiot away from Paris Saint-Germain this month with a £20m offer for the French midfielder.

The 23-year-old will see his current contract expire in the summer, and so the Ligue 1 champions could look to offload him this month in order to avoid losing him for nothing.

Coupled with the fact that he is no longer featuring as part of coach Thomas Tuchel’s first-team squad, it would seem like the sensible thing to do for all parties concerned.

According to The Sun, Spurs could try to prise him away from the French capital with a £20m bid before the transfer deadline, although it’s added that PSG want to sign a replacement before allowing the French international to leave.

There is no denying the quality that Rabiot possesses, as his technical ability and creative class could help him fit in well under Mauricio Pochettino and his style of play at Tottenham, while the lack of quality depth could mean he would be a crucial addition too.

With the likes of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko, Pochettino has some quality options in midfield already, but adding Rabiot would certainly help them continue to compete on multiple fronts by adding a classy individual with plenty of experience and a winning pedigree.

Time will tell if a deal is done with the deadline fast approaching, but as he faces another five months of being frozen out in Paris, Rabiot will surely be itching to resolve his future sooner rather than later and Spurs could launch a bid big enough to convince the French outfit to sell.
