‘This is very easy’ – Thomas Tuchel will delight Chelsea fans with comments over contract extension

Posted by

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that he would be willing to sign an extension to his Chelsea contract, report the Telegraph.

Tuchel, who replaced Frank Lampard at the tail end of January, has done a quite sensational job at Stamford Bridge to date.

Chelsea were lingering around mid-table at the time of Lampard’s departure, with Tuchel leading them to two cup finals and a top four finish.

He deserves a great deal of credit, and you have to imagine the Chelsea board will be keen on keeping him around long-term.

However, as is reported by the Telegraph, his Chelsea deal only runs until the end of next season, which is hardly a show of commitment from either party.

Fear not, Chelsea fans, for when quizzed over whether he is ready to extend his deal with the Blues, Tuchel said the following, as quoted by the Telegraph.

“This is very easy. I’m just so happy to be here. I have never felt so good since I was in Mainz and this feels like the perfect place and the perfect moment.

“I’m so happy to be here, so whatever will come will come. We cannot force things, but, of course, this is my point of view and this is very clear.”

This all but confirms that he will be signing a new contract in due course. You imagine that, once the season has ended, the Chelsea board will put it in writing.
