UEFA Europa League Round of 16 draw: Liverpool land Sparta Prague, Brighton head to Roma and West Ham get Freiburg

A fantastic Play-Off round saw a number of European heavyweights qualify for the UEFA Europa League Round of 16.

Roma were taken all the way to penalties by Feyenoord before triumphing 4-2 in the shoot-out, and though AC Milan lost 3-2 on the night to Rennes, a first-leg victory saw them edge out the French side 5-3 on aggregate.

Marseille also went into the hat thanks to the same aggregate score against Shakhtar Donetsk, a 3-1 second-leg play-off win sealing their spot.

Benfica’s 0-0 draw was enough to see them progress at the expense of Toulouse (2-1 on agg), whilst Freiburg came back from two goals down against Lens to win 3-2, Michael Gregoritsch’s 99th-minute winner the difference.

Sporting, Sparta Prague, and Qarabag were the other three teams to win their play-off games, and their reward were ties against Atalanta, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen respectively.

West Ham have been drawn to face Freiburg in the Europa League Round of 16
