Leeds United interested in the signing of £15m Premier League star

Leeds United are reportedly interested in the signing of Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Daniel Farke’s side is currently third in the Championship but holds a game in hand over second-place Ipswich Town after winning 12 out of their last 13 games.

A win against Millwall at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon will launch them back into second place and potentially into first place depending on their goal difference.

With the club having a very good chance of securing potential automatic promotion back up to the Premier League, transfer speculation has become more frequent the closer we get to the summer window.

According to a report from the Sunday Mirror via Sports View, Farke’s side could make a move for Newcastle midfielder Longstaff if they do secure promotion back to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has just over one year remaining on his contract and would provide a lot of experience to a newly promoted Leeds side with the England international featuring in 135 Premier League games throughout his career.

The report claims that Newcastle would demand around £15 million for Longstaff if they were willing to sell.

With Leicester City playing Chelsea in the FA Cup on Sunday, Leeds could go level on points at the top of the table with the Foxes holding a game in hand.
