Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly among a host of clubs chasing Real Madrid’s Ferland Mendy, though the player is believed to have no intention of joining Newcastle.

Mendy joined Madrid from French side Lyon back in 2019 and has made 165 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring six goals and providing ten assists.

The left back has an impressive trophy haul from his time at the Bernabeu winning the Champions League and La Liga twice as well as the Copa Del Rey.

Mendy to move to the Premier League this summer?

The France international could be on the move this summer with his contract expiring in 2025 and Madrid believed to be unwilling to renew it.

Eduardo Camavinga has played regularly for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season at left back which has led to questions over the long term future of Mendy.

Mendy has been linked with a summer move to the Premier League.

The Spanish giants are in the market for a left back to potentially replace the 28-year-old and have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies.

According to L’Equipe  Liverpool and Arsenal have both been in touch with Mendy’s representatives to find out if the left back would be interested in a summer move.

They add that United are pushing to sign the Frenchman, with Manchester City reportedly keeping an eye on the situation.

Arsenal are believed to be assessing their options in the position, with reported doubts over Oleksandr Zinchenko, whilst Mendy could be viewed as an upgrade for United given Luke Shaw’s injury problems.

Newcastle were reportedly among the Premier League clubs interested in the left back, but it’s claimed Mendy won’t sign for the Magpies as he wants to join a more illustrious club.

Madrid have yet to set their asking price for Mendy who has made 32 appearances in all competitions.
