There’s some major Chelsea transfer news emerging as Fabrizio Romano insists big movements have happened in the last 48 hours.

These movements relate to Blues striker Nicolas Jackson, who is seemingly continuing to attract plenty of interest as we get closer to the end of the summer transfer window.

See below as Romano has provided an update on Jackson’s future as key developments seem to have taken place in the last 48 hours.

According to Romano’s post on X, formerly Twitter, both Bayern Munich and Newcastle United have been in touch to ask about the Senegal international, while Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is also keen to sign him…

“There’s big movements ongoing around Nico Jackson, he’s definitely set to leave Chelsea very soon,” Romano posted.

He added: “Understand Newcastle and Bayern have both called again in last 48h, Aston Villa pushing as Unai Emery wants him. Decision soon.”

Chelsea have brought in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap in this transfer window, pushing Jackson down the pecking order after his slightly underwhelming form in the last two seasons.

The 24-year-old may well have a big future in the game, but it hasn’t happened for him at Chelsea and it surely now makes sense for all parties if he moves on.

CFC also need to shift a few players after making so many signings, and Jackson is an obvious candidate to potentially raise them quite a bit of money.

Enzo Maresca on Nicolas Jackson

Enzo Maresca also spoke yesterday about Jackson, making it clear that the former Villarreal man would be leaving.

Although the Chelsea manager insisted he didn’t know anything about a specific move, he stated that he’d be leaving the player out of his squad for the West Ham game.

Maresca also pointed out that Chelsea had brought in two new signings up front, with an exit for Jackson looking possible.
