Newcastle United will have plenty of room to manoeuvre in the transfer market, with sporting director Ross Wilson continuing to work on further additions for Matthias Jaissle’s squad.
The Magpies have already experienced significant change this summer. Several established players have departed, while five new faces have arrived as part of a major rebuild.

Premier League registration rules could prove particularly useful to Newcastle as they continue their business. Clubs can register up to 25 senior players, with a maximum of 17 allowed to be non-homegrown. Players who qualify as homegrown must make up the remainder.
At present, Newcastle have only 17 senior players over the age of 21, leaving eight spaces available within their 25-man allocation. Their non-homegrown contingent is also well below the permitted limit.
That gives Wilson considerable flexibility before the September 1 deadline. Newcastle could still add several senior players, with defensive and midfield reinforcements among their priorities, while another winger or forward could also be considered.
The situation could become even more open if players such as Nick Pope and Joe Willock leave.
