Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has made good use of the international break to scout a trio of young Barcelona talents according to the Daily Mail.

Villas-Boas was in attendance as Barcelona B took on Deportivo and is said to have his sights set on 18-year-old midfielder Sergi Samper, fellow midfielder Javier Espinosa, 21, and goalkeeper Jordi Masip, 24.

The White Hart Lane boss is well known for his penchant for planning for the future with moves for youthful talents and he clearly sees his Tottenham squad as very much a work in progress.

Villas-Boas spent around £105m bringing in new talent over the summer but raked in £110m from the sales of Gareth Bale, Steven Caulker, Clint Dempsey, Tom Huddlestone and Scott Parker and as such can certainly afford to invest further in his Spurs squad.

Tottenham have started the season well enough but a 3-0 home defeat to West Ham will certainly have left Villas-Boas considering his January transfer window options.
