Barcelona are believed to be weighing up a move for Real Sociedad goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, according to Spanish news source fichajes.com.

The 30-year-old impressed between the sticks against Manchester United earlier this week as the Basque side narrowly lost out by a goal to nil.

Barca are still searching for a replacement for the outbound Victor Valdes as he runs down his contract at the Nou Camp with the intention on moving on after 11 years with the champions at the end of the season.

So far their search has seen them linked to the likes of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen of Borussia Monchengladbach, Liverpool’s Pepe Reina, who is currently on loan with Italian side Napoli, and young Inter Milan stopper Francesco Bardi, who is also out on loan at Livorno in Serie B.

However, Barca may be tempted to look a little closer to home as Bravo’s impressive performances, coupled with his low asking price of around £1.7m, has brought him to their attention.

Bravo joined Sociedad from Chilean club Colo Colo in 2006 and has gone on to wrack up over 200 appearances for the club in that time and has even managed to score one goal.
