Serie A giants AC Milan are hoping to put a dampener on any plans Everton had on extending Gerard Deulofeu’s stay at Goodison Park by making a move of their own over the summer, according to Football Direct News.

The Rossoneri are said to be weighing up a loan move for the 19-year-old with a view to making it permanent if all parties agree at the end of the agreement.

Deulofeu is currently on loan with the Toffees from La Liga champions Barcelona, where he graduate through the youth ranks from their famous La Masia academy and has represented his country at several age groups from under-16 to under-21.

The starlet midfielder has already notched up two goals in 13 appearances since arriving at the club this summer, after he made just two appearances for his parent club last year.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is known to be keen on keeping him at the club beyond the current campaign but knows that he will have to act fast in order to secure his services.

Milan are presently undergoing a rebuilding process under new boss Clarence Seedorf as they look as though they are set to miss out on next season’s Champions League thanks to some patchy early season form.
