The Spain international has been made available to buy for next season by the La Liga giants for a fee believed to be in excess of £30m after what has been a disappointing last campaign at Camp Nou for Fabregas.

However, despite the fact that the Red Devils spent most of last summer’s transfer window trying to persuade Fabregas to move to Old Trafford, with the then United boss David Moyes willing to spend as much as £30m in order to land the former Arsenal captain, in the end the player opted to remain put in Catalonia.

And with the 27-year-old now available to purchase and also said to be keen to return to the Premier League next season, it had widely been assumed that United would reignite their long-running interest in the Spaniard.

But it is understood that Van Gaal has no intention of entering into a bidding war this summer with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea for a player he is not that keen on.
