PSG continue to attempt the seemingly impossible with French source Le10Sport claiming that the Ligue 1 side are set to make a mammoth offer for Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

The Argentine got off to a flyer in Brazil, scoring a delicious solo effort as his side eased past Bosnia, and now it appears that PSG’s very wealthy owners are ready to make a very large bid for the 26 year old.

By all accounts Messi has a release clause written into his Nou Camp contract and it’s one that Parc des Princes Nasser Al-Khelaifi is not scared by.

It will take an offer of €250m (£199m) to meet Messi’s release clause and even then one imagines the four time Balon d’Or winner can just turn around and say ‘no thanks’.

There is no denying just how much money the club’s Qatari based owners possess but that doesn’t automatically mean PSG will tempt Messi into leaving the side he has represented, with some distinction, since the age of 13.

One would imagine Messi needn’t be motivated by greed at this stage in his career, as clearly the hugely talented forward has more money than he knows what to do with, and as such there is every chance that he could opt to see out his career at the Catalan club he has helped to six La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns.
