Stoke City To Make Shock Move For Barcelona Forward

Nou Camp outcast Bojan Krkic could be set for a shock move to the potteries.

Stoke City could be set to make one of the most eyebrow-raising signings of the summer, according to Marca, with the Potters being linked with a sensation swoop for Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic.

Now 23, Bojan was considered to be the next star off the conveyor belt at the Nou Camp when he emerged as a teenager, but failed to live up to his potential and his since enjoyed limited success with a host of clubs including AS Roma, AC Milan and Ajax.

He is likely to be surplus to requirements at Barcelona this summer, but with clubs seemingly being put off by his significant wage demands, Stoke could be set to step in and secure what would be an exciting signing for Mark Hughes’ club.

Bojan was born in Spain but is of Serbian descent, making him eligible for both countries – but the player chose to represent Spain at youth level and went on to secure one senior cap for La Roja in 2008 when he was still a teenager.

He spent last season on loan at Ajax in the Eredivisie but scored just four league goals for the club, struggling to make the impact that his early promise seemed to indicate that he would be able to deliver.
