Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal told reporters before his side’s crunch clash with Liverpool this Sunday afternoon why he selected James Wilson over Radamel Falcao, one of the world’s most feared strikers…

Falcao has only scored once since arriving on a very expensive loan deal in the summer, and despite being fully fit, the Colombian megastar can’t get in the side at the moment.

“Radamel Falcao is fit to start. We need James Wilson in this match because of his speed,” Van Gaal said, reported in the Express.

While Falcao is a brilliant finisher, and his movement is also exceptional – he doesn’t possess the pace and acceleration of the teenage Englishman.

Most thought Wilson would struggle badly for game time this season because of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Falcao himself ahead of him in the pecking order, but it’s actually the more renowned South American who’s finding it very difficult to get into the side…
