The 25 year old has become a forgotten man at the Etihad Stadium and may want to consider the prospect of pastures new and a temporary exit could help act as a shop window for the former Swansea City man.

QPR, Crystal Palace and Norwich are all keen on Sinclair but he is leaning towards a move to Villa Park.

Sinclair hasn’t started a fixture this term and his loan spell at West Brom last term proved unsuccessful and the Man City man may feel this is the right time to move on.

Man City paid £6.2m for Sinclair but may elect to consider nominal offers for the attacker and Lambert may feel that he has the raw ability to make an impact at Villa Park.
