He is set to be replaced by BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Mark Pougatch who will host his first match for the broadcaster when Chelsea face Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League later next month.
The presenter has helmed the channel’s coverage since 2010 but has hardly been the most popular man during his time.
And the internet has certainly reacted happily to the news he will no longer be gracing our screens.
