Morelia have only won one game all season and that unsavoury record never looked in doubt in this game.
The visitors endured the worst possible start when Marco Palacios was sent off in just the 17th minute, but they battled on and actually took the lead in the 57th minute through Carlos Calvo. Their advantage only lasted six minutes, however, as Leiton Jimenez fired the hosts level.
The result leaves Veracruz in 2nd place in the table with 23 points, one behind leaders Chivas de Guadalajara. They are ahead of third placed Tijuana on goal difference.
