Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has taken to social media to reveal awesome footage of the club’s supporters as his side entered the Santiago Bernabeu for the Champions League quarter-final second leg tie against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.

Supporters of Los Blancos greeted the players with a heroes welcome ahead of the game against their local rivals and it certainly had an impact on the team as they progressed into the semi-finals with a hard-fought 1-0 win after on-loan Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez’ 88th minute winner.
It was a first victory in eight attempts against their fierce rivals this season and it keeps the holders on course to become the first side to retain the trophy in the competitions current format.
Varane, who started the game in midweek, posted the video via his official Twitter account and seemed taken aback by the reaction of the fans before thanking them for their support:
