Arsenal ready to pay £13m to trigger release clause to land goal-a-game La Liga hot-shot

Arsenal are ready to fork out the £13.3m needed to trigger the release clause of in-form Celta Vigo forward Nolito according to Fichajes via the Daily Mirror.

Arsene Wenger could do with strengthening his goal-scoring options though one wonders if 28-year-old Spanish international Nolito offers the North London side an improvement on who is already available to the Arsenal manager in his current Emirates Stadium squad.

Nolito is certainly enjoying himself at present, the former Benfica and Barcelona man bagged 27 goals in 71 La Liga appearances for Celta Vigo over the past two campaigns and has started 2015/16 with a bang, scoring five times in five matches thus far.

Fichajes via the Daily Mirror claim Arsenal will battle Barcelona in pursuit of the experienced striker, who left the Nou Camp in 2011 after failing to make an impact at the Catalan club.

Arsenal have failed to score in three of their seven Premier League fixtures thus far this season though Theo Walcott has put in some strong displays of late, which have left Olivier Giroud warming the bench.

Whilst Wenger would do well to bring in a fresh striking option they could perhaps be in more urgent need of an experienced defensive midfielder.
