Chelsea have been given the go ahead to make a move for Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann after the Spaniards admitted that he can leave the club, according to the Daily Mirror.

Blues owner Roman Abramovic is known to be a huge fan of the French international and has been tracking his progress for years, and though Atletico have always done their best ro rebuff Chelsea’s interest, manager Diego Simeone has now admitted that Griezmann could soon be on his way.

“The sporting directors have been speaking to him directly, with those close to him, in order to work out what’s best for him and the club,” said Simeone.

“Of course he’s a very important player for us, but we can’t hold him here with chains.”

With Chelsea and Manchester United both believed to be interested in his signature, Atletico are making sure that he won’t leave on the cheap and have valued him at £75million.
