Premier League club owner subjected to death chant after latest loss in relegation battle

There are times where football fandom can inspire the worst kinds of ideas and feelings, and for the Aston Villa faithful – coming off yet another embarrassing loss to keep them squarely at the bottom of the relegation zone – they may have just hit their breaking point and want to take out their frustration on owner Randy Lerner.

According to the Metro, a video has emerged of Aston Villa fans making a chant of death to the embattled owner of the club.

In the video, they can be heard chanting, ‘We’re all having a party, we’re all having a party, we’re all having a party when Randy Lerner dies.’

On Tuesday, Aston Villa lost their 15th match of the season in a 2-0 defeat against West Ham United, during which Jordan Ayew committed a heinous red card foul by deliberately elbowing a West Ham player in the face.

Lerner has been rumoured to be looking to sell the club he acquired majority control of 2006, but the Villa owner has denied any reports of the sort.

Aston Villa is one of only a handful of Premier League clubs that have not been relegated once since the league was formed in 1992, but that distinction is likely to be torn from the club this year due to their abysmal record, which includes just two wins in the Premier League.
