Agent denies Arsenal offer for Barcelona star

Arsenal have not made an offer for Barcelona star Arda Turan according to his agent Ahmet Bulut.

Not only has Turan not received an offer but his agent also underlines that he will stay at Barca over the summer.

Bulut was quoted by Goal as saying: “No, I haven’t heard anything from Arsenal. Arda will be staying at Barcelona.”

Turan’s agent also recently stated that his client is happy at Barcelona and denied rumours that his client is set to leave the club.
Speaking to Emre Sarigul of Turkish-football.com [via the Guardian], Bulut said: “The interest [in Arda] is normal but the rumours saying he is leaving Barcelona are false, he is happy at the club.”

There are however, conflicting reports as Barca are reported to have given clubs the green light to sign Turan as long as their £20 million valuation is met according to the Sun.

The report also states that Arsenal and Chelsea are both in the race to sign the 29-year-old midfielder.

Turan did just join Barca last season and does have another four-years remaining on his contract but there are a number of rumours claiming that he could be headed for an exit despite his agent saying otherwise.

The 29-year-old has been recalled to training earlier than expected and will have to prove himself to the head coach Luis Enrique over the pre-season period.

Turan is expected to travel with Barca to face Celtic in a pre-season friendly in Dublin next week.
