Man City turn attention towards Everton defender after securing Leroy Sane

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has turned his attention towards Everton’s John Stones after securing the transfer of Leroy Sane from Schalke 04.

According to the Mirror, Stones is still Guardiola’s number one target and the Citizens are preparing another bid for the England international.

However, the report says that Everton have rejected City’s previous £40 million offer for their star asset and are eager to keep hold of Stones this season.

The report goes onto state that Everton have also turned down an offer from City which involved exchanging striker Wilfried Bony plus cash for their star defender.

Guardiola has already made major changes to the City squad with his latest signing Sane putting pen to paper on a five-year deal yesterday.

Stones joined Everton from Barnsley back in January 2013 and was an unused substitute during all of England’s games at Euro 2016. The highly rated defender  made 41 appearances for Everton in all competitions last season.
