West Ham have made a £6.8 million bid for Olympique Lyonnais forward Rachid Ghezzal according to the Express.
Per the source, Everton are also in the race to sign the Algerian international who scored eight goals last season.
The Toffees have additional funds to spend following the £47.5 million sale of John Stones to Manchester City.
Everton are also linked with Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie but it will not stop them targeting Ghezzal as well.
Lyon are however, reported to be in talks with the young attacker over signing a new deal with OL. If a deal is not reached he will be able to opt for West Ham or Everton instead.
Ghezzal would join international team-mate Sofiane Feghouli at the East London based outfit if he were to make the move.
West Ham have had a busy summer bringing in the likes of Turkish international winger Gokhan Tore on loan as well as Andre Ayew from Swansea on Monday for £20.5million.
Ghezzal scored eight goals and contributed eight assists in 29 Ligue 1 outings this season.
