Chelsea are readying a record bid for Atletico Madrid’s star forward Antoine Griezmann according to the Telegraph.

Per-the-source, the Blues are set to rival Manchester United for the France international’s signature. The Red Devils have had their scouts keep tabs on the 25-year-old and Bleacher Report state that they are also preparing an offer for Griezmann.

The Telegraph goes onto state that Chelsea are prepared to use Diego Costa as part of the offer to bring the France international to Stamford Bridge.

Griezmann is a wanted man after scoring six goals during Euro 2016 for the France national team. According to the Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo,  Atletico Madrid are unwilling to let go of their star asset for anything under his £85 million release clause.

Chelsea will therefore need to break their current club transfer record which is currently held by Fernando Torres who joined from Liverpool for £50 million.

United take on their bitter rivals Manchester City in their next Premier League fixture on September 10. Meanwhile Chelsea will be looking to keep their unbeaten run going when they take on Swansea City on Sunday.
